چکیده

A numerical method and experimental technique for microwave imaging of inhomogeuons bodies is presented. This method is based on the interpretation of the diffraction phenomena and leads to tomographic reconstruction of the body under investigation. Various nnmerical examples are given on spatial impulse response, recognition of dielectric rods, inhomogeneous bodies, and simulated human arm. Different experimental results on dielectric rods and isolated animal organs are also given.

QUANTITATIVE IMAGING USING A 2.45 GHz PLANAR CAMERA

Microwave imaging is recognized as an efficient diagnostic modality for no invasively visualizing dielectric contrasts in non metallic bodies. The usefulness of this modality results from the existing correlation between dielectric properties and quantities of practical relevance for industrial or biomedical applications. At the beginning of the 80’s, Supélec developed a 2.45 GHz planar microwa...

Three-Dimensional Far-Field Holographic Microwave Imaging: An Experimental Investigation of Dielectric Object

This work presents experimental investigations of three-dimensional (3-D) far-field holographic microwave imaging (HMI) method for diagnosing inclusions within dielectric objects, and in particular, it relates to electromagnetic imaging to reconstruct dielectric properties of inhomogeneous, lossy bodies with arbitrary shape. The apparatus is designed for operation at a single frequency of 12.6G...

Cylindrical geometry: a further step in active microwave tomography - Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Transactions on

A prototype imaging system for active microwave tomography using cylindrical geometry has been developed, making is possible to obtain images of the dielectric properties of biological targets at 2.45 GHz. The system requires no mechanical movements to illuminate the body from multiple directions (views) and measure the scattered fields. In this way a complete data set consisting in 64 views is...

Microwave Imaging of Buried Inhomogeneous Objects Using Parallel Genetic Algorithm Combined with Fdtd Method

Microwave imaging of buried objects has been widely used in sensing and remote-sensing applications. It can be formulated and solved as inverse scattering problems. In this paper, we propose a hybrid numerical technique based on the parallel genetic algorithm (GA) and the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for determining the location and dimensions of two-dimensional inhomogeneous obj...

A Parallel Analysis of the Scattering from Inhomogeneous Dielectric Bodies by the Volume Integral Equation and the Precorrected-fft Algorithm

In this paper, a parallel implementation of the precorrected fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm is presented to efficiently solve the volume-integral equation for scattering from inhomogeneous dielectric objects. Several examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency and correctness of the message-passing interface (MPI)-based parallelization algorithm. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Micr...
